Ethanol and animal feed producer White Energy has joined the National Sorghum Producers (NSP) Industry Partner Program, which connects sorghum producers with industry companies, as a Gold+ Level sponsor.

The ethanol industry typically accounts for 10% of the total demand for U.S. sorghum, according to NSP. Through the partnership between NSP and White Energy, the industry is seeing support from one of its leading domestic markets and one of the nation’s leading producers in this industry, NSP said.

“White Energy remains a leader in the sorghum ethanol space, and we are thrilled the company has committed to align with NSP as an industry partner,” said Tim Lust, chief executive officer, NSP. “Although the ethanol industry has experienced challenges in recent years, the enhanced focus on climate and sustainable sources of food, fuel and fiber makes the sorghum and the ethanol industries well poised to partner for success now and in the future. We see tremendous opportunity to do that with White Energy.”

White Energy, headquartered in Frisco, Texas, US, can produce more than 250 million gallons of ethanol annually, NSP said. With two locations in the Texas Panhandle, the company has implemented strategies to obtain low-carbon intensity ratings and utilize its onsite rail yard to deliver ethanol to California and international ports.

“White Energy is pleased to collaborate with NSP as an industry leader striving toward a low-carbon future locally, nationally and abroad. Together, as one collective voice, we will be prominent and influential in shaping that future and the policies guiding it, while at the same time bringing value back to our partner farmers” said Christopher Hughes, vice president of commodities and risk management, White Energy.
