Data from the Ministry of Agriculture on Monday revealed that as of the middle of June in 2023–24, Ukraine’s grain exports have decreased by 29.7% to 8.3 million metric tonnes.
According to the ministry’s report sighted by New Telegraph, as of October 24, 2018, 11.9 million tonnes have been exported by traders,
During the first 22 days of October, 1.58 million tonnes of grain were exported. From October 1 to October 23, last year, Ukraine exported 3.16 million tonnes, the ministry added.
While 3.39 million tonnes of corn, 663,000 tonnes of barley, and 4.16 million tonnes of wheat were among the commodities exported.
Lower shipments are mostly due to Russian strikes on Ukrainian ports on the Danube River, according to trade and agricultural groups, and limited exports from Ukrainian Black Sea ports.

The majority of Ukraine’s exports have historically been shipped through its deep-water Black Sea ports.
In July, Russia withdrew from a pact reached by the UN and Turkey that permitted such exports, claiming that its demand to have sanctions eased on its exports of grain and fertiliser was unfulfilled.
More than 30 cargo ships, according to Ukrainian shipping sources, have entered a nascent Black Sea trade channel as Kyiv intensifies its efforts to overcome a de facto Russian blockade.
Limited quantities can also be exported by Ukraine across its western land border with the European Union and tiny river ports on the Danube.
It is anticipated that Ukraine will harvest 79 million tonnes of grain and oilseed in 2023, with around 50 million tonnes of that amount being exportable in 2023–2024.
