Gov't expands partnerships for Agricultural credit facility, including saccos

The government is planning to include Saccos as contributing and management partners for the Agricultural Credit Facility, which now exceeds 650 billion shillings. To date, only commercial banks collaborate with the central bank in managing this fund, excluding several potential beneficiaries, especially smallholder farmers. The Head of Disbursement and Recovery at the Bank of Uganda states that moving forward, the lender will initiate the accreditation process for additional entities to facilitate easier access to the funds
