The County Government of Uasin Gishu in partnership with Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) is working towards strengthening the capacities of farmer-based cooperatives by promoting climate-smart technologies and sustainable practices for a more resilient food system.
While hosting EAGC delegation led by Jacinta Mwau on Tuesday at his office, Governor Jonathan Bii said there is need to revive and consolidate cooperative societies to take up pivotal roles of spearheading economic growth and control.
Issues as trade facilitation, market linkages for farmers, training for small and medium enterprises, millers, and the provision of market information to farmers to enhance agriculture and agribusiness were subjects of discussion.
