Italian Ambassador unveils modern machinery for Tanzania agriculture

During an agricultural training hosted by Italy Trade, the Italian envoy, highlighted the crucial role of modern technology in the agricultural sector.

The emphasis was placed on the significance of utilizing advanced agricultural machinery to enhance farming practices and drive sustainable growth.

In conjunction with the training session, the agency will also commence the selection process for sponsoring companies to journey to Italy. During this trip, participants will have the opportunity to learn about and explore the myriad agricultural and business prospects available in the country.

"Renowned Italian agricultural machinery companies such as Masscar, Barbieri, and Ocmis Irrigazione have joined forces to enlighten and empower farmers and tech enthusiasts in Tanzania, catalyzing the growth of the agricultural landscape," Lombardi elaborated.

The training was graced by the presence of Fabio Ricci from the prestigious Feder Unacoma company and Riccardo Zucconi, the esteemed Director of the Italian Trade Agency in Addis Ababa overseeing Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Somalia.

"In addition to showcasing cutting-edge machines, the training served as a pivotal platform for fostering collaboration and fostering direct engagement between Italian enterprises and Tanzanian business magnates," Lombardi elaborated, underscoring the importance of building robust partnerships in the agricultural sector.

Fabio Ricci, Deputy Director of FederUnacoma, underscored their pivotal partnership with Italy in addressing Tanzania's agricultural technology requirements. He pointed out that a substantial surge in imports from Italy commenced in 2022, signaling the escalating demand and impact of advanced agricultural machinery in Tanzania.

Moreover, he highlighted the upcoming international agricultural expos scheduled from November 6 to 10 in Bologna, Italy. These exhibitions, organized by FederUnacoma, offer a vital opportunity for fostering collaboration between Italy and Tanzania in the realm of agricultural innovation.
