International companies are looking to provide Canadian farmers with their products at Canada’s Farm Show in Regina.

The U.K.-founded 4B Components provides grain farmers with hazard monitoring systems to help prevent accidents, while the U.S.-based TeeJet Technologies supplies farmers with equipment to help spray their crops, such as nozzles and electronics.

Steve Schafer works for 4B Components, and he said there are a variety of dangers that the company’s products help farmers avoid.

“Heat buildup in dusty environment causes fires, explosions and also premature equipment wear-out as well,” he explained.

“This also takes place of a lot of the maintenance and the hands-on, and it does it automatically.”

Schafer said the company’s products also help monitor hazards in grain elevators, bucket elevators, conveyors, and screw conveyors.

Zari Dobrev is an application engineer for TeeJet Technologies, which based in Illinois.

He said the company designs and manufactures equipment that goes on agricultural sprayers, ranging from nozzles to solenoid valves and electronics.

“Basically anything that goes on a sprayer, except for the sprayer itself,” he said.

Dobrev said the company has a big focus on sustainability.

“We’re focused on developing application equipment that conserves chemical,” he said. “It increases productivity for the farmers, doing all that in a sustainable way.”

TeeJet Technologies has been attending the annual show for several years. Dobrev said the event lets them connect with producers directly and explain their products.

“Every year we have customers asking ‘How can we improve our sprayers?’ and we’re always happy to help here,” Dobrev said. “It’s good to get in touch with the farmers themselves.”

Canada’s Farm Show started on Tuesday, and wraps up on Thursday.
