Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Thursday that the discussions about reviving the Black Sea Grain Initiative on exporting the commodity from the conflict-hit Ukraine have begun.
Speaking to the press following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) summit in Washington DC, Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey's preference to resolve the crisis between Kiev and Russia "with a just peace." He said Turkey will support any efforts to have such a solution.
Earlier this month, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Erdogan remarked that Ankara is willing to "lay groundwork for an agreement" that could conclude the aforementioned conflict.
