As of today, Kazakhstan has harvested 26.5 million tons of grain, which is more than last year’s harvest of 17.1 million tons, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov said during a government meeting today, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to the ministry, the harvested area of crops has stood at 23.3 million ha, including 16.7 million ha for grain and leguminous crops.
As the minister said, thanks to favorable autumn weather conditions, no substantial losses were reported during the harvest campaign.
As a result, the country has completed the harvest of cereal crops (wheat, barley and so on), the collection of grain maize continues. Grain and leguminous crops on the area of 16.6 million ha or 99.7% of the total harvested area have been collected (This compares to 14.6 million ha of area harvested on the same date last year).
As of today, the country has harvested 26.5 million tons of grain, with an average yield of 16 c/ha, which is more than last year’s harvest of 17.1 million tons, informed Saparov.
According to him, among the southern regions, the highest yield figures are observed in Kyzylorda, Turkestan and Zhetysu regions. As for the main grain-growing regions, North Kazakhstan region has so far reported the highest grain yield with an average yield of 18.6 c/ha. Akmola region logged the average yield of 14.1 centners per hectare and Kostanay region – 14 c/ha.
