Akim (governor) of the Karaganda region, Yermaganbet Bulekpayev highlighted that the Karaganda region is the seventh most productive agricultural region in the country. Local farmers play an essential role in ensuring food security not only in the region, but also in the capital, Kazinform News Agency reports.
At a briefing in the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the akim presented plans to enhance capacity of the agro-industrial complex sector.
“A total of 30 investment projects with a total value of over 23 billion tenge will be implemented in the agro-industrial complex by yearend. Within the framework of village development, the Auyl Amanaty (The heritage of the village) program should be particularly noted. In our region, 4.4 billion tenge has been allocated under the Auyl Amanaty project for 483 microcredits, with half of this earmarked for the development of livestock breeding and the other half for business projects of rural residents. As a result, 816 jobs and more than 60 agricultural production cooperatives have been created in rural areas,” the akim said.
Saq NS, a mare's milk production facility utilizing German technology in Aktogay district with a capacity of 30 tons of koumiss (kumis, fermented mare's milk) per month, and Madi-Agro 7, a meat production facility in Karkaraly District with Qarmet as a customer became successful example of assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agro-industrial sector.
