TanTrade, Unido organise industrial exhibitions

THE Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) in collaboration with The United Nation Industrial Development Organisation (Unido) have organised the four days industrial exhibition at the Julius Nyerere grounds along Kilwa road in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking on the event, the Minister for Trade, Business and Investment, Joseph Kakunda clarified that the aim of the exhibition is to show case the Tanzania made products so as to attract internal and external trade.

He said, since President John Magufuli has insisted on the industrial revolution and asked local manufacturer to produce quality products TanTrade in collaboration with UNIDO have decided to offer that business platform to local manufacturer so as to meet their targeted clients.

He added, in within the four day exhibition, there will be business clinic whereby officials from his ministry will be giving free consultations to business people.

He mentioned some of the consultation to be offered are like, how to secure the market, how to maintain and manage business, doing online business registrations, how to get certificates from the business authorities, how to get barcode, packaging and other business related staffs.

He added, the exhibition will as well enabled manufacturers to meet suppliers, clients and other business stakeholders who may bring changes in Tanzania business portfolios.

On his side the Country representative for UNIDO, Stephen Kargbo said since his organisation is delighted to be part of this year commemorations and will use the occasion to highlight the importance of the industrial sector towards Tanzania’s development.

He added that his organisation in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment through TanTrade will organize a symposium for the industry sector stakeholders on Friday, this week.

He said, “The symposium aimed at taking stock of where we are with regard to various issues that affect the development of the industrial sector, so some of the presenters will have the task of looking at various topics including industrial Tanzania to transform its economy and the wellbeing of people in the regions and other staffs so people should come to acquire business skills and learn new business techniques.”
