WFP ready to buy over 200,000 tonnes of grain

The Country Director of Wor Food Programm (WFP), El Khadir Daloum has asked farmers in Northern Uganda to aim at quality produce if thet are to sell their grain to WFP. He said WFP only procures high quality grains from the market. Daloum made the remarks on Friday during the handover of a warehouse in Koro sub county, Omoro district to WFP by the contractor, REDCO Company Ltd.

This year we are going to buy 200,000 tonnes of grain he said. According to Eng. Mesfin Fisseha, the logistics officer for the WFP warehouse in Koro, the warehouse has the capacity to store 15,000 metric tonnes of maize and sorghum grains.
